Bad credit could affect employment chances April 25, 2006

For some, bad credit could affect your chance of getting the job, depending on the nature of the job. Employers are increasingly checking credit reports according to a recent survey by the Society of Human Resource Management, 35% in 2004 up from 19% in 1996 according to Laura Morsch of CareerBuilders.com.
The chance your credit will be checked depends on whether you handle money in the position. Senior and middle level executives are more likely to have a credit check since they are in a fiduciary position with the company. So what does your credit report tell your future employer? Annual credit reports are now free through the Federal Trade Commission’s website. The FTC began rolling out the free annual credit reports last year.
To access your free credit report, visit the FTC’s websites at www.annualcreditreport.com or call 1-877-322-8228. Each of the nation’s consumer reporting companies- Equifax, Experian, and Transunion – are required to provide you with a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months.

fuck this shit, this is horse shit. they think cause you got bad credit you can get bribed or your gonna steal. Its stereotype, they think cause I got bad credit I dont have morals. (excuse my french lol) In my opinion it is prejudice. These assholes dont understand that times are hard. I didnt get bad credit because I didn’t work, my job as a marketing rep had started losing stability and hours got cut till ultimatley i got laid off. I got a family to feed, I will not let them starve because I gotta pay my cable or cell phone bill! FUCK THAT SHIT!

It’s sad how in the United States the privacy of the individual cannot be kept private and some citizens are pushed out of the work force
because of financial problems, for what ever reason.
Some laid off and couldn’t keep up with the bills, some young or ignorant of the outcome. I feel like the background check is enough and a credit check should be kept for the individual to keep track of his obligations, this country should promote people to work.
For some people, such as for me, it has been difficult to find a decent.
Once you accumulate debt and don’t have a consistent working record, such is when you work under the table or work a few months at a time and leave, you lower your chance to recover from your financial situation and find a good paying job.
